Mumbai, Feb 6 (NationPress) - The World Trade Center Mumbai announced on Friday that it hosted a prominent business delegation from the US, where key officials expressed interest in partnering with India in sectors such as aerospace, advanced manufacturing, telecom technology, green energy, and infrastructure development.
The purpose of this gathering was to foster improved collaboration among MSMEs, startups, and exporters following the recent announcement of the US-India trade deal.
Dave Somers, the County Executive of Snohomish County, part of the Seattle Region, stated that a sustainable aviation fuel hub will be established shortly and encouraged participation from international entities.
“Given our history as a center for high-value manufacturing, we look forward to collaborating in the fields of aerospace, advanced manufacturing, telecom technology, green energy, and infrastructure development,” said Somers.
Sam Cho, Commissioner of the Port of Seattle, highlighted the “significant opportunities to enhance air cargo and passenger services with India,” noting that India currently ranks as Seattle's 13th-largest air cargo trade partner.
“With more than 277,000 passengers traveling between Seattle and India, we are committed to strengthening trade, services, and connectivity,” he remarked.
“The recent India-US trade deal aims to boost bilateral trade in goods and services to $500 billion by 2030. We should strive to increase US capital flows to India from the current $50 billion, which would enhance market access for US exporters and stimulate investment flows,” stated Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman of World Trade Center Mumbai.
The event was organized in collaboration with the All-India Association of Industries, the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and Greater Seattle Partners, featuring over 35 senior leaders from various sectors, including business, real estate, technology, and aviation.
More than 1,000 industry representatives attended, including entrepreneurs from MSMEs, participating in structured B2B meetings.
