Hyderabad, Aug 17 (NationPress) Director Sukesh Nayak, at the helm of the Pan Indian historical film 'Halagali', starring Daali Dhananjaya and Sapthami Gowda as the leads, has revealed that 40 percent of the film's shooting has been successfully wrapped up.
During a press interaction, Nayak highlighted that this narrative is too significant to be confined to a single part, which is why the decision was made to present it in two segments.
"Approximately 40 percent of the shooting has been accomplished. This isn't a tale that can be communicated in just one part. There is a profound history behind it. Hence, we are unfolding it in two parts. This film promises to deliver an exceptional theatrical experience. We are planning to resume shooting by the end of September and aim to complete the remaining scenes by March next year," the director elaborated.
Directed by Sukesh Nayak and produced by Kalyan Chakravarthy Dhulipala, with Yarlagadda Lakshmi Srinivas presenting it, this film is being crafted in two parts and is being filmed in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Lead actor Daali Dhananjaya expressed, "Halagali is an untold narrative. I am honored to be involved in this film. Halagali embodies a significant sentiment in Karnataka. Producer Kalyan and director Sukesh are pouring immense passion into this project. The moment I heard the story, I knew I wanted to be a part of it."
Producer Kalyan Chakravarthy remarked, "I have immense faith in director Sukesh. His dedication to this project is commendable. Halagali is a vital chapter in history, showcasing their struggle against the British, which is unforgettable. We conducted thorough research and it truly gave us goosebumps."
For context, Halagali depicts the Halagali rebellion of 1857, where the Bedars of Halagali, who were both hunters and soldiers, revolted against British orders demanding they disarm.
The film will also showcase performances from actors B Suresh, Sharath Lohithashva, Veena Sundar, Beeradar, Shivamani, Malathi Sudheer, Balaraj Vaadi, Yamuna Srinidhi Shetty, Ananya, and Prathik Shetty, among others.
