Mumbai, Sep 3 (NationPress) Music maestro A. R. Rahman shared that during cinematic outings with his team, they relish watching Marvel movies just like any enthusiastic audience, enjoying the franchise's captivating music.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, the Oscar-winning artist mentioned that they prefer sitting at the back of the theater, fully immersed in the experience while playfully critiquing the films from a typical viewer's angle.
Discussing their movie habits, Rahman remarked: "Sometimes we all go for Marvel films – around 20-30 of us in the cinema, perched at the back, savoring popcorn. My entire team joins in. We head to the theater every 2-3 months."
When asked about his favorite Marvel character, the composer and singer replied: "No favorites, I just focus on the sound quality."
Rahman was further inquired: "Do you enjoy watching movies, or are you consistently analyzing the sound?"
In response, he said: "It's hard not to notice everything, being a creative mind – you observe their techniques, how the songs are arranged, whether the scores are innovative, and if improvements can be made – you start critiquing, just as people critique my work."
During this interaction, Rahman also disclosed that after years of relentless work, he has intentionally chosen to slow down and emphasize family and personal life.
He explained that there were numerous instances when he was juggling multiple film projects simultaneously, often anxious about what would unfold next.
“Sometimes, you plan everything, and it gets canceled. It’s often beyond my control. I prefer to go with the flow, like water; it assumes the shape of its container. Even in my professional life, things automatically align. I believe God has a way of gifting me time,” Rahman remarked.
The composer acknowledged that the unyielding pace of his early career often led him to overlook significant moments in life, particularly on the personal front.
