Mumbai, Aug 11 (NationPress) - Renowned television actor Abhinav Shukla reflected on a pivotal audition from his early career in the film industry that significantly influenced him. He shared his experience on Instagram, recalling that back in 2014, prior to the release of his film "Roar", he had the opportunity to meet Shanoo Sharma, the esteemed casting director of Yash Raj Films, who remarked that while he was attractive, he was missing that crucial “spark.”
In his post, he wrote: “When my movie Roar was set to release, well-meaning friends encouraged me to meet Yash Raj Films' casting director. During our meeting, she told me: 'You are a good looking guy but that's it, spark is missing, you can audition but...(sic)'
Years later, Abhinav's experience shifted dramatically during an audition with the acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He recounted that while auditioning for Bhansali’s ambitious project "Inshallah", which ultimately didn’t materialize, the filmmaker's encouraging words remained with him.
“A few years later, I found myself in front of Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his upcoming project. I vividly remember him showering me with praise and asking multiple times, 'How come you haven't worked so much? I saw the audition, you are super talented. The movie got shelved, my destiny took a turn!'” Abhinav shared.
He tagged the talented actress from 'Mirzapur', Isha Talwar, in his post, expressing, “I can relate, and I believe that criticisms often pave the way to connect with those who appreciate your talent and time!”
Recently, Isha revealed that during an audition, she was unexpectedly asked to cry in the middle of a restaurant. Finding the situation odd, she chose to leave; however, the experience did shake her confidence.
