Chennai, Sep 11 (NationPress) Actor Vijay Antony, who is headlining director Sasi's much-anticipated film 'Nooru Saami', has officially revealed that the movie will be released on May 1 next year.
This announcement was made during the pre-release function of his upcoming project 'Shakthi Thirumagan'.
The multifaceted actor and music director, who has several projects in the pipeline, expressed confidence that 'Nooru Saami' would surpass the success of his blockbuster hit 'Pichaikkaran'.
For those who might not know, the title 'Nooru Saami' is inspired by a beloved song from director Sasi's previous work, 'Pichaikkaran', which also starred Vijay Antony in the leading role.
It is worth noting that director Sasi had previously announced their collaboration during the trailer launch of director Leo John Paul's 'Maargan', where Vijay Antony portrayed a police officer unraveling a murder mystery.
Director Sasi remarked, "In 2006, when I directed 'Dishyum', Vijay Antony was my music director. In 2016, he was the lead in 'Pichaikkaran'. Now, we are set to join forces once more."
Sasi emphasized that this new film holds a special place in his heart and will feature two protagonists.
"One hero role will be portrayed by Vijay Antony, while the other will be played by Ajay Dhishan, who is Vijay Antony's nephew. I recall Ajay as a child during the making of 'Dishyum'; he has now matured into a promising young hero," Sasi added.
The film has generated significant excitement among Tamil cinema enthusiasts, especially since Vijay Antony's last collaboration with Sasi, 'Pichaikkaran', not only became a blockbuster but also achieved cult status.
'Pichaikkaran' tells the story of a successful businessman who, in his quest to save his mother's life, adopts the life of a beggar for 48 days as part of a vow to God. The narrative, inspired by a real-life event, resonated with audiences across Tamil Nadu and beyond.
Moreover, 'Pichaikkaran', which was a massive success in Tamil, was remade in multiple languages, including Telugu (Bichagadu), Odia (Baby), Marathi (Bhikari), and Kannada (Amma I Love You).
Now, nearly nine years later, the highly celebrated duo of director Sasi and actor Vijay Antony will reunite for the new venture titled 'Nooru Saami' (Hundred Gods).
