Chennai, Dec 19 (NationPress) Actor Vikram Prabhu, son of actor Prabhu and grandson of the legendary Tamil cinema icon Sivaji Ganesan, expresses his enthusiasm regarding the players acquired by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during this year's IPL mini auction.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Vikram Prabhu, who is preparing for the release of his much-anticipated film 'Sirai', directed by Suresh Rajakumari, stated, "I am extremely pleased with CSK's choices. We should have pursued Cameron Green earlier. If we missed out on him, this was the only viable approach. It feels like a complete shift in CSK's strategy, something we should have initiated long ago."
He believes that now is the perfect moment to integrate younger players, with Captain Cool M S Dhoni available to guide them. "With Dhoni around, introducing these young talents and nurturing them is the best scenario," he elaborates.
Vikram Prabhu admits to being a dedicated fan of both cricket and CSK. "My journey into cricket began with my grandfather, and my passion has only grown. My father loves it too, but he tends to get anxious during nail-biting matches, often asking me to watch and report back. I remember watching test matches for five consecutive days as a kid," he recalls with a smile.
Clearly, the actor has a deep passion for the IPL. When asked if he will be tuning into the matches, he remarks, "Before I started acting, I had season tickets for the IPL. Once my career took off, I'd attend games whenever possible. This year, however, my schedule is likely to be packed during the summer. In our city, most people are busy in January and December, and I'll be working hard through April, May, and June," he laughs, adding, "I expect the same pattern to continue this time as well."
