Mumbai, Dec 20 (NationPress) Actor Varun Dhawan is set to portray a completely new persona in his upcoming film, "Border 2". To authentically embody the character based on the real-life war hero, Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, he underwent rigorous training that comprised strength training, endurance exercises, and mobility workouts.
Discussing his character, Varun shared that portraying a soldier on screen necessitated a significant level of both physical and mental discipline.
He further explained that the experience was particularly engaging since they filmed in actual locations, which allowed him to immerse himself in the mindset of a soldier.
"Border 2" demanded an elevated level of physical and mental focus, especially as they filmed in genuine locations like Babina. Such environments truly enable one to adopt the mentality of a soldier. Being outdoors all day in challenging conditions means that fitness is less about appearance and more about endurance and recovery," Varun elaborated.
In addition to his physical regimen, Varun made a concerted effort to maintain a clean and straightforward diet, rich in high-protein foods, healthy carbohydrates, and plenty of fluids to stay hydrated during the outdoor shoots.
He remarked, "My routine had to be highly functional, involving extensive strength training, endurance activities, and mobility, as the terrain and weather can be unforgiving. Diet-wise, I kept it very clean and simple: high protein, quality carbs, and ample hydration to support lengthy outdoor shoots."
Varun will be joined by Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty as the principal cast in "Border 2".
