Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Jan 12 (NationPress) Actor Varun Dhawan, in anticipation of his new film Border 2, had a heartfelt meeting with the family of PVC Hoshiar Singh. In the film, he portrays the significant role of a martyr.
Sharing several candid moments from his visit with Singh's wife and son, Varun expressed on social media, “I am deeply honored to meet PVC Hoshiar Singh Dahiya's wife Smt. Dhano Devi ji and his son Colonel Sushil Kumar Dahiya. Receiving their blessings to continue the legacy of PVC Hoshiar Singh Dahiya is an incredible privilege. I am genuinely and profoundly thankful. Jai Hind.”
The actor has dedicated himself to preparing rigorously for this role to do complete justice to it.
To embody the character inspired by the real-life war hero, Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, Varun previously mentioned the necessity of intensive training, which included strength training, endurance, and mobility exercises.
Discussing his role, Varun revealed that portraying a soldier on screen necessitates a particular level of physical and mental discipline.
"Border 2 required an elevated level of physical and mental discipline, especially as we filmed in authentic locations like Babina. Such environments immerse you in a soldier's mindset. Working long hours in challenging conditions shifts the focus from merely looking fit to enhancing stamina and recovery," Varun explained.
In addition to rigorous physical training, he emphasized maintaining a clean diet, rich in high protein, healthy carbohydrates, and ample hydration to keep himself energized during outdoor shoots.
He elaborated, "My regimen had to be highly functional, integrating strength training, endurance, and mobility, as the terrain and climate can be unforgiving. Diet-wise, I prioritized simplicity: high protein, good carbs, and significant hydration to endure extensive outdoor filming sessions."
In Border 2, Varun stars alongside Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty as part of the main cast.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Nidhi Dutta, and co-produced by Shiv Chanana and Binoy Gandhi, the film is directed by Anurag Singh.
The movie is set for theatrical release on January 23, 2026.
