Ajith Kumar Declares He Won't Sign New Films Until Racing Season Begins

Chennai, Jan 10 (NationPress) Actor Ajith Kumar has announced that he will not be signing any new films until the racing season commences, stating that he plans to work on a film between October and March, just before the racing season kicks off.

The actor is currently in Dubai to compete in the 24H Dubai 2025 race with his team, Ajith Kumar Racing. In a recent interview with a television channel, he was posed the question, "Do you include clauses in your contracts that allow you to race, or do production companies restrict you from racing?"

In response, Ajith mentioned, "I don't need directives on what I can or cannot do. Currently, as I pursue motorsports—not only as a driver but also as a team owner—I will not be signing films until the racing season is underway. I plan to work on films between October and March, before the season starts, so that everyone can be assured and I can focus completely on racing."

When asked what attracted him to the 24H Dubai 2025, Ajith explained, "If you observe the various formats I've raced in, they've primarily been sprint races. These events involve one car with multiple drivers. It’s not solely about the individual; it’s about the car and the equipment, ensuring the equipment is preserved for your co-drivers. Therefore, it’s a team sport."

It should be noted that Ajith is gearing up for the race despite having faced a car crash that significantly damaged his vehicle during a practice session on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the actor practiced driver change drills and concentrated on refining strategies to enhance overall efficiency during pitstop practices.

For those unfamiliar, Ajith is not only racing but also owns Ajith Kumar Racing, which will be competing in the highly competitive Porsche 992 class alongside teammates Mathieu Detry, Fabian Duffieux, and Cameron McLeod.

Interestingly, Fabian Duffieux was appointed as the team manager for Ajith Kumar Racing in December of the previous year.

The 24H Dubai 2025 is particularly significant for Ajith Kumar as it will mark his team’s competitive debut in the racing arena. It will also signify the beginning of a rigorous endurance campaign for his team, which has enlisted Bas Koeten Racing as its technical and logistical partner.
