He believes this is a golden era for Indian music, characterized by a spirit of experimentation and a strong emphasis on soulful connections.

When asked about changes in the Bollywood music landscape since his entry, Akhil mentioned to IANS: “I would assert that Bollywood, along with the entire film industry, has undergone a transformation, especially in the past 10 years due to generational shifts and the impact of COVID-19 and OTT platforms, altering people's tastes and mindsets.”

“This shift encompasses not just Bollywood music but the entire Bollywood landscape,” he added.

Discussing the current state of music in India, he stated: “At present, India is experiencing an extraordinary phase in its music scene, with numerous experiments taking place and a wealth of incredible talent emerging.”

He emphasizes that this is an opportune moment for “all musicians to progress and innovate, as the sounds are evolving and gaining acceptance.”

Akhil's journey in Bollywood began serendipitously when he met Shashank Khaitan, the filmmaker behind “Badrinath Ki Dulhania,” at an Eid dinner hosted by his friend and actress Huma Qureshi. This film serves as a spiritual sequel to 2014's “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania,” featuring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.

His subsequent hit was “Tera Ban Jaunga” from the 2019 blockbuster “Kabir Singh,” starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani.

Following that, he produced another hit, “Mere Liye,” from the series “Broken But Beautiful” season 3, which stars the late Sidharth Shukla and Sonia Rathee.

This series explores themes of love, heartbreak, and the ongoing romance between two characters. The first two seasons focus on the story of Veer and Sameera, portrayed by Vikrant Massey and Harleen Sethi.
