Originally, the film was slated for a May 1 release.
In a statement shared on its X account, Annapurna Studios, the production house, revealed the change in schedule.
The statement read, "The release of 'Lenin', initially planned for May 1, will be rescheduled. With our beloved Mega Power Star Ram Charan launching his film on April 30, we think it’s best to celebrate cinema in a positive atmosphere. Everyone knows the bond between Ram Charan and Akhil, and this decision is made with the utmost respect."
The studio further announced, "'Lenin' will be available worldwide on June 26, 2026. We promise that it will be a grand celebration of cinema, filled with emotions and presented in the best possible way. Thank you for your continued love and support."
In the film, Bhagyashri Borse portrays Bharathi, the love interest of the titular character, Lenin.
The film has generated considerable excitement among fans and cinema enthusiasts. Initially, Sree Leela was cast as the female lead, but she had to withdraw due to scheduling conflicts, leading to Bhagyashri Borse's addition to the cast.
The production team previously released a teaser on Akhil Akkineni's birthday last year.
The teaser features scenes reminiscent of the climactic battle from the epic Mahabharata, with Akhil making a striking appearance, exuding intensity as he prepares for a challenge. A voiceover states, “When one is born, they have life but no name. Conversely, when one dies, only the name remains. The legacy of that name is…” before revealing the title ‘Lenin’. The film's tagline reads, ‘No war is more violent than love’.
With high expectations, the film boasts cinematography by Naveen Kumar and music composed by Thaman, while editing is handled by Navin Nooli.
