Akshay Kumar Kicks Off Filming for ‘Bhoot Bangla’, Scheduled to Release on April 2, 2026

Mumbai, Dec 10 (NationPress) Bollywood sensation Akshay Kumar announced his excitement on Monday about starting production for his next film, Bhoot Bangla, in collaboration with his favorite director Priyadarshan. The film is confirmed to be released on April 2, 2026.
Akshay shared a fresh poster of the film on his Instagram, stating: "Beyond excited to be on set with my favourite @priyadarshan.official as we begin the shoot of our horror comedy #BhoothBangla today."
He further added, "Yeh darr aur hasi ka double dose aapke liye ready hoga 2nd April, 2026 ko! Tab tak ke liye aapke best wishes chahiye."
Joining Akshay in this horror comedy are actors Paresh Rawal, Asrani, and Rajpal Yadav, under the direction of Priyadarshan.
The film is anticipated to commence production in early 2025 with a theatrical release targeted for the end of that year. Currently, the casting process is underway with three female lead roles yet to be finalized.
Akshay has previously teamed up with Paresh in classics like Hera Pheri, Phir Hera Pheri, and Garam Masala. He has also shared the screen with Rajpal in Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Bhagam Bhag, while Asrani and Akshay collaborated in Khatta Meetha.
On his 57th birthday, celebrated on September 9, Akshay revealed that he is reuniting with Priyadarshan after a 14-year hiatus for this film.
He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to unveil the motion poster of the film, showcasing himself with a bowl featuring a black cat perched on his shoulder.
"Thank you for your love on my birthday, year after year! Celebrating this year with the first look of ‘Bhooth Bangla'! I’m beyond excited to join forces with Priyadarshan again after 14 years," the actor expressed, noting that their last collaboration was in 2010 for Khatta Meetha.
"This dream collaboration has been a long time coming… can’t wait to share this incredible journey with you all. Stay tuned for the magic!"
Over the years, Akshay and Priyadarshan have delivered several blockbusters together, including Hera Pheri, De Dana Dan, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Garam Masala, and Khatta Meetha.
