Akshay Kumar Kicks Off Filming for ‘Bhooth Bangla’, Scheduled to Premiere on April 2, 2026

Mumbai, Dec 10 (NationPress) Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar announced his excitement on Monday as he began filming for his new project ‘Bhooth Bangla’, which is set to premiere on April 2, 2026.
Taking to his Instagram, Akshay unveiled a fresh poster of the movie, stating: “I am thrilled to be on set with my favorite @priyadarshan.official as we kick off the shooting of our horror comedy #BhoothBangla today.”
“Get ready for a double dose of fear and laughter on April 2, 2026! Until then, I need your best wishes,” he added.
Joining Akshay are actors Paresh Rawal, Asrani, and Rajpal Yadav in the forthcoming horror comedy directed by Priyadarshan.
The production is slated to begin in early 2025, with a theatrical release targeted for later that year. Currently, the casting process continues, particularly for three female lead roles that are yet to be cast.
Previously, Akshay collaborated with Paresh in hits like ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’, and ‘Garam Masala’. He has also shared the screen with Rajpal in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ and ‘Bhagam Bhag’. Furthermore, Asrani and the ‘Khel Khel Mein’ star have previously worked together in ‘Khatta Meetha’.
On his 57th birthday, celebrated on September 9, Akshay revealed his collaboration with director Priyadarshan after a gap of 14 years for this film.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, he shared a motion poster featuring himself holding a bowl with a black cat perched on his shoulder.
“Thank you for your love on my birthday, year after year! Celebrating this year with the first look of ‘Bhooth Bangla’! I’m beyond excited to join forces with Priyadarshan again after 14 years,” wrote the actor, who last collaborated with the director in 2010 for ‘Khatta Meetha’.
“This dream collaboration has been a long time coming… can’t wait to share this incredible journey with you all. Stay tuned for the magic!”
Akshay and Priyadarshan have a history of delivering numerous blockbusters together, including ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘De Dana Dan’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, ‘Garam Masala’, and ‘Khatta Meetha’, among others.
