Mumbai, Oct 7 (NationPress) Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar urged a redesign of the footwear used by Maharashtra Police during a discussion with CM Devendra Fadnavis at the FICCI Frames event.
He emphasized that enhancing the quality of shoes could help reduce injuries and empower officers to execute their responsibilities more efficiently. During the event, Akshay, who has an athletic background, pointed out that the current shoes can lead to back issues or even slipped discs, particularly during high-pressure situations.
Akshay remarked, “Sir, this isn’t about the film industry, but I’ve observed the shoes worn by Mumbai Police. They have heels inside, making it challenging to run. As an athlete, I know this can result in back pain or even slipped discs when officers need to sprint. A redesign of their footwear would be incredibly advantageous, enabling the Maharashtra Police to outpace any criminal.”
Notably, the 'Airlift' star is the first celebrity to address the shortcomings in Maharashtra Police footwear.
Furthermore, Akshay sought CM Devendra Fadnavis’s perspective on his role as a villain in his upcoming film, “Haiwaan.” He inquired, “I’m portraying a negative character in this film. Should I proceed with it? The title is Haiwaan, but ultimately, I lose. The ‘Haiwaan’ loses.”
In response, Fadnavis stated: “Absolutely, you should pursue it. A multifaceted actor like you should take on diverse roles. Ultimately, what constitutes success? Even in films where the antagonist is defeated, the character often leaves a more profound impression than the hero. That’s the essence of creativity. But please continue taking on heroic roles as well.”
