On the professional front, Ali seems to be in a good place, having returned as the beloved Guddu bhaiya in ‘Mirzapur’ season 3, and he has three exciting projects lined up.
He is set to appear in ‘Metro… In Dino’, ‘Lahore 1947’, and ‘Thug Life’ in 2025. Personally, Ali recently welcomed a baby girl with his wife, Richa Chadha. Earlier on Saturday, the IIFA honored digital content and the artists contributing to the digital space. Kriti Sanon’s Netflix film ‘Do Patti’, where she portrayed dual roles, earned her the IIFA Digital Award for Performance in a Leading Role, Female (Film).
Additionally, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor were spotted embracing each other on the IIFA stage, recalling their past romance that lasted 4-5 years before they moved on to marry their current partners.
The two previously collaborated on the iconic film ‘Jab We Met’, released in 2007. During filming, Kareena and Shahid separated, marking a significant shift in the romantic comedy genre within Hindi cinema and establishing Imtiaz Ali as a prominent filmmaker.
The film is primarily set in Mumbai, Bhatinda, and Shimla, following the journey of Aditya Kashyap (played by Shahid), a heartbroken businessman who meets a talkative Punjabi girl, Geet Dhillon (played by Kareena), on a train. Their missed train leads to an unforgettable adventure that transforms their lives.
This film also initiated a long-term collaboration between Imtiaz, music composer Pritam, and lyricist Irshad Kamil.
