Mumbai, June 17 (NationPress) Actor Ali Fazal expresses that his musical journey aligns perfectly with his new role as Akash in Anurag Basu’s forthcoming film “Metro... In Dino”.
Ali made his debut in Bollywood back in 2009 with a brief appearance as Joy Lobo, a guitar-playing engineering student in the blockbuster “3 Idiots”, which starred Aamir Khan. He perceives his portrayal of Akash as a fateful return to his origins.
“It genuinely feels like life has come full circle. I began my cinematic journey with a memorable role as Joy Lobo—a youthful dreamer with a guitar—in 3 Idiots. That character ignited something within me, not merely as an actor but as an artist,” he shared.
“Years later, to now embody a lead character like Akash, a musician once more, in Metro… In Dino, is a beautiful, destined return to my beginnings,” he added.
The actor noted that his career has taken him through various realms.
From historical dramas to international projects—there's a unique excitement in going back to the strings, both literally and metaphorically. Collaborating with Anurag Basu has been a long-held aspiration, and working alongside Fatima has been a true delight.”
He remarked that “Metro…In Dino” serves as a reminder that while life may diverge in numerous directions, “the core passions—such as music—inevitably find their way back.”
This film is an official sequel to Basu’s acclaimed Life in a… Metro, which debuted in 2007.
The film features an ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher, and Neena Gupta.
Exploring the intricacies of modern relationships, “Metro…In Dino” promises to delve into themes of love, heartbreak, and human connection.
