Mumbai, July 20 (NationPress) Renowned Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan referred to Chandra Barot as 'a family friend' while expressing his sorrow over the passing of the esteemed director of ‘Don’.

The Big B shared his heartfelt emotions on his blog, stating, "Another and yet another sorrowful moment... My dear friend and director of DON - Chandra Barot has left us this morning."

Offering prayers for the departed, Amitabh remarked, "It's hard to articulate the loss... we collaborated indeed, but he was more of a family friend than anything else... I can only pray..."

Chandra Barot passed away on Sunday at the age of 86 after battling pulmonary fibrosis for seven years; he was receiving treatment at Guru Nanak Hospital prior to his demise.

His wife, Deepa Barot, confirmed the tragic news.
