Mumbai, Nov 25 (NationPress) The iconic Bollywood figure Amitabh Bachchan is filled with sorrow following the departure of his 'Sholay' co-actor Dharmendra.

In a touching homage to his 'Chupke Chupke' co-star, Amitabh shared his heartfelt feelings on social media after learning of Dharmendra’s passing at the age of 89.

Using his official account on X (previously known as Twitter), Big B expressed, "... another valiant Giant has left us .. departed the stage .. leaving behind a profound silence with an unbearable echo .. Dharam ji .. .. the embodiment of greatness, forever associated not just with his remarkable physical presence, but with the vastness of his heart, and its most charming simplicity ..(sic)."

"He brought with him the essence of his Punjabi village, remaining authentic to its spirit .. untouched throughout his illustrious career, in a fraternity that has seen transformations every decade .. ... the industry has evolved .. not him .. his smile, his charisma, and his warmth reached all who were near him .. a rarity in this profession .. .. the atmosphere around us feels empty .. .. a void that will forever remain vacuous .. .. prayers (Temple and folded hands emojis)," Amitabh continued.

Amitabh, alongside other notable Bollywood personalities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, attended Dharmendra’s funeral at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle.

Recently, Dharmendra was admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital due to breathlessness. After receiving treatment, he was discharged on November 12 and continued his recovery at home. Sadly, the legendary actor passed away on November 24.

For those unaware, Amitabh and Dharmendra have collaborated on several iconic films including 'Sholay' (1975), 'Chupke Chupke' (1975), 'Ram Balram' (1980), 'Naseeb' (1981), 'The Burning Train' (1980), and 'Hum Kaun Hai?' (1983).
