Amitabh Bachchan's Humorous Take on Bipasha Basu

Mumbai, Jan 5 (NationPress) An old video clip of Amitabh Bachchan has made a comeback on social media, where the legendary actor playfully commented on actress Bipasha Basu.

This behind-the-scenes footage is from the famous talk show, “Rendezvous with Simi Garewal,” where Bachchan was joined by his family members—son Abhishek, daughter Shweta, and wife Jaya Bachchan.

The segment originates from the filming of the 2004 thriller “Aetbaar,” in which Amitabh appeared alongside John Abraham and Bipasha Basu. At that time, John and Bipasha were reportedly in a romantic relationship, and Big B played the character of Bipasha's father in the film.

In the widely shared footage, the ‘Sholay’ actor amusingly recounted a humorous incident from the set involving John, who had been diagnosed with conjunctivitis.

While narrating this tale to Simi, she jokingly cautioned the crew to refrain from touching anything Amitabh had come into contact with, worried they might catch the infection. Without hesitation, Bachchan quipped, “Maine toh kiya hi nahi kuch” (“I didn’t do anything”). He then added with a cheeky smile, “Sari touching toh Bipasha karti hai, main thode na karta hun” (“It’s Bipasha who does all the touching, not me”).

Last year, Simi Garewal shared this nostalgic video on her Instagram account with the caption, “What's a little gossip among friends?! Rendezvous gems.”

On the professional front, Amitabh was recently featured in the film “Vettaiyan,” where he acted alongside Rajinikanth, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati. Directed by T. J. Gnanavel and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah's Lyca Productions, this action thriller revolves around Rajinikanth as Athiyan, a veteran police officer who accidentally shoots and kills an innocent person during an encounter.

The ‘Piku’ actor is set to appear next in Deepika Padukone’s forthcoming film “The Intern” and also has the sequel of “Kalki 2898 AD” lined up.
