Mumbai, Oct 10 (NationPress) - Acclaimed filmmaker and writer Anees Bazmee recently took to his social media platform to commemorate the 28th anniversary of the beloved Bollywood classic 'Deewana Mastana'.

Alongside the film's poster, he expressed his sentiments with a heartfelt message, stating, “28 years ago, Deewana Mastana marked a significant milestone in my writing career. I am thankful for the affection this film has garnered and for each viewer who contributed to this remarkable journey.”

This comedy, directed by David Dhawan and penned by Anees Bazmee, premiered in 1997 and quickly became one of the most cherished comedies of its time. The film featured a stellar cast, including Govinda, Anil Kapoor, and Juhi Chawla, with notable performances from Johnny Lever, Reema Lagoo, and Anupam Kher. Additionally, superstar Salman Khan made a special cameo that elevated the film's appeal.

The plot of Deewana Mastana centers around two characters, Bunnu, played by Govinda, a lighthearted man plagued by phobias, and Raja, portrayed by Anil Kapoor, a petty criminal. Both men find themselves vying for the affection of Dr. Neha, played by Juhi Chawla. Their comical attempts to win her heart lead to a series of humorous mishaps. The film was a commercial success and gained acclaim for its impeccable comic timing, stellar performances, and unforgettable dialogues.
