Bengaluru, Oct 11 (NationPress) The Karnataka Police have successfully solved a robbery case involving a police sub-inspector (PSI) from the Tamil Nadu Police force, which occurred on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway. Three individuals have been apprehended, as reported by officials on Saturday.
The incident took place within the boundaries of the Channapatna Rural Police Station in the Bengaluru South district.
The suspects have been identified as Syed Tanveer, aged 30, Fairoz Pasha, 28, and Tanveer Pasha, 32.
PSI Shajin, who is stationed at the Cherambadi police station in Tamil Nadu, filed a complaint regarding this incident.
According to law enforcement, the assailants attacked PSI Shajin and his family at Lambani Tandya near the Channapatna Bypass on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway. While traveling in a car and taking a break, Shajin and his family were threatened with knives, leading to the theft of a 16-gram gold chain, Rs 10,000 in cash, and two mobile phones before the robbers fled the scene.
After receiving the complaint, the Channapatna Rural Police utilized technology to track down the suspects and executed the arrests. Police have also confiscated a two-wheeler and weapons from the accused. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain their potential involvement in other criminal activities.
On September 12, the Sanjaynagar police in Bengaluru arrested three men who had robbed a retired police officer of his gold jewelry at knife point. The suspects—Mohsin, Mohammad Irfan, and Mohammad Salman—all from Bengaluru, were responsible for stealing gold ornaments valued at approximately Rs 8 lakh from retired ACP Subbanna on September 1.
This earlier incident occurred while Subbanna was on a morning walk near the Hebbal veterinary hospital, where masked assailants confronted him, threatened him with a knife, and made off with his gold jewelry.
Following Subbanna's report, police were able to locate and arrest the culprits.
