Mumbai, Dec 23 (NationPress) Anil Kapoor took to social media on Tuesday to commemorate the centenary of his father, Surinder Kapoor.

The actor expressed a heartfelt homage to the figure who significantly influenced his classic films “Mr. India” and “Woh 7 din.” Anil acknowledged his father’s mentorship and vision, attributing the success of one of Bollywood’s most cherished movies to his guidance. The ‘Welcome’ star emphasized how deeply his father's unwavering support has impacted his career.

On his Instagram profile, Anil Kapoor shared a collection of unseen vintage black and white photographs, celebrating his father's enduring legacy. In the caption, he mentioned, “Today marks 100 years of my father’s life. He was the driving force behind my aspiration to become a leading man, simply wishing he might one day view me as a star, a successful actor creating films under his production banner.”

“Woh 7 din and Mr. India would not have existed without his goodwill and mentorship. His simplicity, integrity, and quiet faith molded every aspect of my journey. I feel his absence profoundly, yet his dreams and teachings accompany me daily... Happy Birthday, Papa! You were, are, and will forever be my guiding star...” (sic)

The nostalgic images showcase treasured memories of Surinder Kapoor within the film industry. The late producer can be seen alongside his son and iconic figures such as Sridevi, Parveen Babi, Shashi Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar, and numerous other Bollywood legends.

For those unfamiliar, Surinder Kapoor was a distinguished Indian film producer, recognized for his immense contributions to Bollywood. Besides producing a myriad of films, he held the position of President of the Film & Television Producers Guild of India from 1995 to 2001. He passed away on September 24, 2011, due to a heart attack.
