Actress Anjali Arora has opened up about her most challenging role yet — portraying Mata Sita in the upcoming mythological film 'Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha – Shri Ram Ki', set to release on 25 September 2026. Speaking ahead of the film's poster and teaser launch on Tuesday, 18 August, Arora described the role as 'one of the most emotional and responsible journeys' of her life.

'For me, playing Mata Sita has been one of the most emotional and responsible journeys of my life,' Anjali Arora said. 'She represents immense strength, dignity, patience and faith.'

Arora added that it was not just Sita's devotion to Shri Ram that moved her, but her resilience in adversity. 'Her love for Shri Ram is profound, but what inspires me equally is her inner courage and the grace with which she faces every trial,' she said. 'I knew from the beginning that this character had to be approached with complete respect and sincerity. I hope audiences see the devotion and effort with which we have tried to bring her to the screen.'

Teaser and Poster Unveiled

The makers officially unveiled the film's poster and teaser on Tuesday, offering audiences their first look at the production's visual scale. The teaser moves through the grandeur of Ayodhya, intimate moments between Shri Ram and Mata Sita, and the emotional arc of the vanvaas — the forest exile — while hinting at the spiritual and cinematic world the film inhabits.

Dev Sharma on Portraying Shri Ram

Co-lead Dev Sharma, who plays Shri Ram, echoed the sense of responsibility. 'Playing Shri Ram is not a role one can approach simply as an actor. His name carries the faith and emotions of millions of people, and that brings with it an enormous responsibility,' he said.

Sharma added that he hoped the film would resonate beyond devotees. 'I have tried to approach him with complete sincerity and devotion, and to understand the strength, compassion, patience and maryada that define him. I hope audiences, especially the younger generation, are able to connect with those values through our film,' he said.
