Mumbai, Jan 20 (NationPress) Actor Anup Soni, recognized for his role in 'Crime Patrol', disclosed the identities of his juniors from the National School of Drama (NSD) in Delhi. He mentioned that he and his classmates used to engage in light-hearted ragging of their juniors. However, he clarified that this ragging was solely confined to 'roasting' or 'bullying' them through acting discussions, ensuring that no physical harm was inflicted.

During a conversation with Cyrus Broacha on his podcast, he stated, 'Ashutosh Rana, Mukesh Tiwari, Kumud Mishra, and Yashpal Sharma, all prominent villains in the Hindi film industry, were my juniors from NSD. I have ragged them.'

He elaborated, 'It was more like a roasting session. We used to inquire, “Where did you come from?” and then challenge them to perform a dialogue. Even when they delivered the dialogue correctly, we would tease them by saying, “You watch too many films. This is theatre, not cinema. Did you come here to be a hero?” This is how we playfully bullied them. There was no physical harm; it was purely verbal banter, mostly related to acting but with a hint of bullying.'

In a previous episode of the same podcast, Anup shared a captivating story about how he cold-called the late filmmaker Yash Chopra for an opportunity.

The actor recounted that he dialed a landline number, and fortune smiled upon him as Yash Chopra answered the call during a time when mobile phones were not widespread. A clip of him recounting this experience has resurfaced online.

In the clip, he mentioned, 'I looked up the directory and called the number for Yash Raj Films, and Yash Chopra answered. I swear, mobiles didn’t exist back then. I introduced myself, saying, “I am from the National School of Drama,” emphasizing NSD because several NSD alumni had collaborated with him.'
