Anya Taylor-Joy Shares Surprising Experience Voicing Princess Peach
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, March 22 (NationPress) Hollywood star Anya Taylor-Joy experienced quite a shock when she first lent her voice to Princess Peach.
According to reports from ‘Female First UK’, the actress revealed that she actually vomited during her initial recording session for the character.
The 29-year-old actress is set to reprise her role as the beloved video game icon in the upcoming film, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. She shared how she had underestimated the effort involved in voicing an animated character during her first recording for the original 2023 film, The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
During her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Anya remarked, "It's super fun. But I will say the first time I ever did a session, I did not realise how taxing it would be because you're yelling continuously the whole time. I think the first time I ever did it, I threw up.”
In addition, the actress discussed the challenging process of performing “efforts,” which are sound effects recorded at the end of a voice acting session.
She explained, “It's essentially like the action sequence, but you're doing it standing by yourself in a booth. And you're doing that for like half an hour, which makes you feel really cool. I think you have to lightly dissociate. And then, you know, you kind of visit yourself back and you think, 'God, I hope no one ever sees this', because they do film them.”
Joining Anya in the cast is Jack Black, who reprises his role as Bowser in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, set to premiere in theaters on April 1. He previously hinted that the sequel contains “tons of Easter eggs” that will thrill gaming enthusiasts.
Alongside Anya and Jack, the film features returning stars such as Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, and Keegan-Michael Key, who voice Mario, Luigi, and Toad respectively. New additions to the cast include Brie Larson and Benny Safdie, who provide the voices for Princess Rosalina and Bowser Jr.
Directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic are leading this exciting project.
