Mumbai, September 14 (NationPress) While Bollywood star Archana Puran Singh often portrays a cheerful persona on screen, in reality, she embodies a deeply emotional and uplifting spirit.
The actress, known for her infectious laughter on The Kapil Sharma Show, has navigated numerous challenges in her life, particularly in her relationship with husband Parmeet Sethi. In a heartfelt podcast with Art of Living, Archana shared her experiences candidly.
Reflecting on her marriage, Archana stated, “People often refer to us as a perfect couple. But what defines a perfect couple?!” she pondered. “A perfect couple is one that has triumphed over life's hurdles. We encountered many obstacles in our marriage, faced misunderstandings and ego clashes. It was during these times that Shri Shri Ravi Shankar provided us with guidance,” she explained.
Archana expressed her gratitude towards Art of Living for helping her navigate life's challenges, saying, “Art of Living feels like a complete faith to me. I had a dear friend, Gopal, who is no longer with us, and his wife was an Art of Living instructor. She encouraged me, 'Puran, you must engage with Art of Living.'”
In sharing a childhood trauma that lingered in her subconscious, Archana revealed, “During Sudarshan Kriya, I found myself unexpectedly saying, 'Mummy, don’t leave me.' I was puzzled by this. When I inquired with my mother, she recounted that when I was just 10 months old, she left for Kolkata for ten days, leaving me behind. That separation might have left a lasting impression on me, as decades later, I still found myself saying, 'Mummy, don’t leave me.' I can't fully explain why it happened, but I know it did.”
Realizing the transformative potential of this practice while grappling with a strained relationship with Parmeet, Archana urged him to experience Art of Living. “I called Parmeet and said, 'You must participate in the course.' He was confused, as our relationship was tense at that moment. I told him this was the best gift he could give himself,” she shared.
She continued, “He flew to Bangalore and engaged in Sudarshan Kriya the following day. Afterward, he told me that even amidst our disagreements, he began to see me as the most beautiful woman. This experience allowed us to view each other in a new light. Soon after, we resumed our conversations and began meditating together, practicing pranayama and Sudarshan Kriya daily,” Archana said, her voice filled with emotion. Emphasizing the significance of meditation, she remarked, “Gradually, transformations began. Meditation doesn’t introduce anything new; it alters your perspective. The same behaviors that once annoyed you may still occur, but the irritation fades. Our true selves emerged, allowing us to cherish each other anew, which is why people refer to us as a perfect couple.”
For those unfamiliar, Archana and Parmeet Sethi share a love marriage. After several years of dating, they tied the knot. Archana is five years older than Parmeet, and they are proud parents to two sons, Aryaaman Sethi and Ayushmaan Sethi. Recently, Aryaaman proposed to his long-time girlfriend Yogita Bihani, with the support of his parents, Archana and Parmeet.
