Mumbai, Dec 22 (NationPress) Actress Shilpa Shetty fondly remembered her late father, Surendra Shetty, who would have celebrated his 85th birthday on Monday, through a touching post on social media.

She shared some cherished moments with her father on her official Instagram account.

"Cheers to 85, Dad! I trust you are relishing your single malt up there...(sic)," Shilpa captioned her heartfelt tribute.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher responded to the post with a warm message, saying, "Happy birthday," complemented by floral and red heart emojis.

The album featured the 'Dhadkan' actress sharing a loving embrace with her father, alongside a nostalgic photo from her childhood.

Also included were images of Shilpa's father with her son, Viaan. The final photograph showcased Shilpa and her sister Shamita with their father.

On October 11, Shilpa commemorated the 9th anniversary of her father's passing with another poignant post.

The 'Sukhee' actress shared a delightful childhood photo of her being playfully tickled by her father, which brought a bright smile to her face.

She captioned this memory, "Missing your smile .. Missing YOU Daddy (Red heart emoji) 9 years today (folded hands emoji) (sic)."

For those who may not know, Shilpa's father passed away on October 11, 2016, at their home in Versova due to a cardiac arrest. He was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

In a separate matter, a fraud case involving Shilpa and her husband Raj Kundra worth 60 crores was filed by the Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai Police following a complaint from businessman Deepak Kothari.

Recently, Shilpa firmly rejected the "baseless and motivated allegations" brought against them by the EOW, which has invoked Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.

In her Instagram Stories, Shilpa stated, "We categorically deny the unfounded and motivated claims being circulated. The issues being raised are being given a criminal color without any lawful basis. A Quashing Petition has already been submitted to the High Court and is awaiting adjudication. Having fully cooperated with the investigation, we are confident that justice will prevail and have complete faith in the law enforcement authorities and the judicial system of our nation. We respectfully ask the media to exercise caution as the matter is subjudice."
