Mumbai, Feb 25 (NationPress) Arjun Kapoor shared insights on the use of the remixed track "Gori Hai Kalaiyan" in his latest film, "Mere Husband Ki Biwi".

During an exclusive conversation with IANS, he was questioned, "What is your reaction to the varied responses towards reimagined songs?"

Arjun responded, "When it pertains to films, narratives, or music, creativity should not be restricted to one definition. If you explore the soundtrack of our film (Mere Husband Ki Biwi), you'll notice that not every song is a remix. This choice complements our narrative; if you view the video (Gori Hai Kalaiyan), it illustrates the plot of our film—a man caught between two women vying for his love. Hence, I believe that as long as it serves a meaningful purpose, it’s acceptable. If it lacks rationale and fails to relate to the film, then criticism is warranted. Many might recognize Gori Hai Kalaiyan without knowing its origins; we approached it with authenticity in relation to our film. The movie features four additional original tracks.

He further stated, "I firmly believe originality exists; this was a classic song that we utilized creatively. We strived to integrate the song beautifully; it fits seamlessly within the film. Therefore, I would assert that in this context, we exercised creativity by incorporating an existing song in a sincere manner in our movie. We have not only chosen a hit track but also one that aligns with our film's rhythm.

Featuring Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh, "Mere Husband Ki Biwi" premiered in theaters on February 21, 2025.
