Chennai, Aug 10 (NationPress) Actor Arun Vijay, who is set to portray two roles in director Kris Thirukumaran's thrilling action film 'Retta Thala', has revealed that the second character he embodies is named Kali.

In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Arun Vijay shared, "'Retta Thala' is a captivating action thriller that delves into the complexities of human nature as the various shades of grey in individuals are revealed simultaneously."

Recently, actor Sivakarthikeyan unveiled the impactful teaser of 'Retta Thala', showcasing snippets of the gripping storyline and the two characters played by Arun Vijay. While the teaser confirmed one character as Malpe Upendra, the name of the second character remained a mystery.

When asked about this, Arun Vijay smiled and revealed, "We only disclosed the name of one character in the teaser. The other character I portray is Kali." He admitted that taking on physically demanding roles was quite challenging, especially following a serious ACL tear sustained during the filming of 'Vanangaan'.

"Bala sir wanted me to adopt a flabby appearance for 'Vanangaan', so I refrained from working out for about a year and a half for that specific role. I also endured significant injuries, including an ACL tear in my left knee, which hindered my ability to train immediately. Fortunately, director Kris Thirukumaran was incredibly supportive. He allowed me the necessary time to recover and prepare by filming the dialogue sequences first," Arun Vijay explained.

Directed by Kris Thirukumaran, 'Retta Thala' also stars Siddhi Idnani, Tanya Ravichandran, Yogi Samy, John Vijay, Hareesh Peradi, and Balaji Murugadoss in crucial roles.
