Chennai, Dec 23 (NationPress) The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has officially given the green light to director Krish Thirukumaran's much-anticipated action film, 'Retta Thala', starring Arun Vijay in the lead role, by awarding it a U/A certificate.

BTG Universal, the film's production company, took to social media to announce the news, stating, "Certified. Charged. Ready. @arunvijayno1 ’s #RettaThala has received a U/A certification. Mark your calendars for a worldwide release on December 25, 2025. Produced by @bbobby @BTGUniversal, directed by @kris_thiru1, featuring music by @SamCSmusic."

In a show of gratitude, Arun Vijay and co-star Siddhi Idnani visited the Arulmigu Vennankodi Muniappan Temple in Salem prior to the film's launch.

On his social media, Arun Vijay shared images from their temple visit, stating, "Received blessings from the Arulmigu Vennankodi Muniappan Temple #Salem... #RettaThala releases in just two days!!"

The film showcases Arun Vijay in dual roles. The recently unveiled trailer opens with a voiceover saying, "People say a collection of happy memories equates to a fulfilling life. Whether it's my life or my memories, I was only truly happy when I was with Andre."

We learn that Andre is the character portrayed by Siddhi Idnani, who states, "We live only once; we should live to the fullest."

It becomes clear that one of Arun Vijay's characters is romantically involved with Andre.

The trailer adds an intriguing twist, featuring Tanya Ravichandran's character proclaiming, "I will reward anyone who eliminates my husband’s killer."

This hints at a revenge plot, with Hareesh Peradi's character ominously stating, "From this day forward, his days are numbered."

Arun Vijay then declares, "Death is mocking me, saying, 'I have encircled you.' It’s a battle against death; this will be a fight to the finish."

The trailer promises a fascinating blend of action, romance, revenge, and drama.

In an exclusive interview with IANS, Arun Vijay previously described 'Retta Thala' as a captivating action thriller that delves into the complex shades of morality in individuals.

He also revealed the names of his two characters: Malpe Upendra and Kali.

Directed by Kris Thirukumaran, the film also stars Siddhi Idnani, Tanya Ravichandran, Yogi Samy, John Vijay, Hareesh Peradi, and Balaji Murugadoss in significant roles.

The project boasts an impressive technical team, with music by Sam CS, cinematography by Tijo Tomy, and editing by Anthony. The film features high-octane action sequences choreographed by P.C.Stunts, while costumes are designed by Kiruthika Sekar, with Suren R and Bobby Antony handling the choreography for the songs.
