Los Angeles, Dec 18 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Ashley Judd is reflecting on the legacy of the late director Rob Reiner. On Thursday, she took to her Instagram account to share a nostalgic photo of the iconic filmmaker.

In her heartfelt caption, she reminisced about how Rob graciously released her from a contract—an act that is quite rare among Indian filmmakers, who often prioritize leveraging an actor's popularity.

She shared, “In 1995, I auditioned for Mr. Reiner for a small, recurring role in his film, ‘The American President.’ Shortly after, I received a call from Michael Mann, inviting me to join the cast of ‘Heat’ alongside De Niro and Pacino.”

Judd further elaborated, “I spoke directly with Mr. Reiner, having already secured my deal to appear in his film. He was thrilled for me, saying, ‘Oh kid, that other movie is a far better use of your talent.’ He let me out of my contract with kindness and encouragement. Thank you, Rob, for decades of cinematic brilliance. I’m filled with love, sorrow, and gratitude.”

Tragically, Rob and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were discovered deceased in their Brentwood, Los Angeles home due to apparent stab wounds. Their deaths have been classified as homicides, and their son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. The investigation continues as the legal process unfolds in Los Angeles County.

Rob Reiner was a pivotal figure in Hollywood, known for directing classics such as ‘This Is Spinal Tap,’ ‘Stand by Me,’ ‘The Princess Bride,’ ‘When Harry Met Sally,’ and ‘A Few Good Men.’ He was also a co-founder of Castle Rock Entertainment and a significant voice in political activism.
