Chennai, Sep 16 (NationPress) Renowned actor Ashwin Kakamanu, celebrated for his role in director Ravindra Madhava's gripping action thriller 'Thanal', has revealed his newfound passion for boxing, describing it as a significant stress reliever.
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Kakamanu shared, "Boxing has always fascinated me, especially as a devoted fan of Sylvester Stallone and the Rocky series."
"Since my teenage years, it has been an exhilarating experience for me. When I felt low, I would watch boxing matches on YouTube," he elaborated.
Discussing how he seriously embraced boxing, the actor noted, "Prior to the pandemic, I was offered a role in a boxing film that truly excited me. I thought, 'This is my moment.' I began training in boxing, but then the pandemic disrupted my plans."
Despite the setback, Kakamanu revealed that he returned to boxing last year. "The sport provides a unique mental relief. It truly acts as a stress buster. I enjoy practicing with my wife and friends, making it a fun group activity," he stated, adding that they have all embraced the sport together.
"We attend classes together, motivating one another. Boxing improves your posture and speed. It enhances your fitness routine, which can become monotonous in the gym. Learning a new skill like boxing revitalizes that experience. Additionally, I incorporate animal flow exercises and mobility techniques, which help me achieve a Zen state through boxing," he remarked.
