Mumbai, March 3 (NationPress) Actor Ashutosh Rana, famed for his roles in Dushman, Sangharsh, War, Mulk, Pathaan, and more, has articulated the distinctions between theatre and cinema.

In a recent conversation with IANS regarding his theatre production ‘Humaare Ram’, the NSD alumnus emphasized that both mediums possess unique significance and fulfill different roles.

He remarked to IANS, “I firmly believe that theatre serves as a training ground. Movies represent a performance where your art can be viewed simultaneously in places like Bareilly and Berlin. However, in theatre, if you're performing in Mumbai, not everyone in the city can experience that performance at the same time, only those present in the audience can.”

He further elaborated on the value of both theatre and films, stating, “There’s no merit in training that doesn’t provide opportunities for performance. Audiences often fail to appreciate performances lacking rigorous training. Hence, I believe in having a training institute to prepare artists. An artist or a warrior, once ready, ventures into the world.”

“Training is crucial for any performance. Being a product of the National School of Drama, our intrinsic essence is rooted in Rang Manch,” he continued.

The essence of theatre lies in its ability to keep individuals alert, aware, and active. For productions like Truth of the Moment, one must remain engaged and vigilant. Cultivating these attributes enhances our abilities in life, leading to greater enlightenment. I find it truly magical when our faculties become more attuned,” he concluded.
