Mumbai, March 3 (NationPress) Actor Ashutosh Rana, renowned for his roles in Dushman, Sangharsh, War, Mulk, Pathaan, and others, has articulated the distinctions between the realms of theatre and cinema.

The actor recently shared his insights with IANS regarding his theatrical production ‘Humaare Ram’. As a proud alumnus of the National School of Drama (NSD), he emphasizes that both mediums hold unique significance and fulfill distinct roles.

He remarked to IANS, “In my view, theatre serves as a foundational training arena. Films represent a performance art. A movie can be viewed in Bareilly while simultaneously being screened in Berlin, allowing audiences worldwide to appreciate your craft. However, when it comes to theatre, if you’re performing in Mumbai, not everyone in the city can experience the performance at the same moment, except those present in the audience.”

He further elaborated on the value of both forms, stating, “There’s no merit in training that doesn’t provide a platform for performance. Audiences tend not to value performances that lack rigorous training. Thus, I advocate for a training institution that readies individuals. An artist or a warrior prepared for the world is essential.”

“Training is crucial for any performance. Having graduated from the National School of Drama, our core essence is rooted in Rang Manch,” he continued.

The hallmark of theatre is its ability to keep individuals alert, aware, and active. For productions like Truth of the Moment, one must maintain these three qualities. When these attributes are enhanced, we naturally become more enlightened and capable in our lives. It’s truly magical when our talents are unleashed.
