Chennai, July 24 (NationPress) Ashwin Kumar, the visionary director behind Mahavtar Narsimha, which marks the inaugural film in the breathtaking Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, has revealed his decision to enlist the talents of Tamil music composer Sam C S for the film's score. His choice was influenced by the captivating background music Sam created for the Tamil film 'Jada'.
In a conversation with IANS, Ashwin elaborated on his selection of Sam as the composer for this ambitious animated project, which will first captivate Indian audiences before reaching a global viewership.
“Having been a musician myself, I often reflect on my potential career as a choreographer or musician had I not pursued filmmaking. Music has always been a significant study for me,” Ashwin shared. “While searching for a music composer, I explored the works of numerous artists. It was during my review of Sam's discography that I stumbled upon 'Jada'. The moment I listened to its original soundtrack, I was entranced. I realized that only he could truly do justice to our film,” Ashwin stated.
He continued, “After we managed to connect with him and presented what we had accomplished—about sixty to seventy percent of the film—he instantly grasped the film's vast scope. Given the extensive musical range this film demands, we’re looking at a world music spectrum. We have incorporated Digi2 from Australia, orchestral arrangements, and shastric music, alongside contemporary film music.”
Sam C S commented, “For this project, I required six months. This is the longest I have dedicated to composing music for a film. As this is an animation feature, they would present me with rough animated sequences. I would compose music, which they would then refine and adjust based on the background score I provided.”
Mahavtar Narsimha, directed by Ashwin Kumar and produced by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, and Chaitanya Desai under the banner of Kleem Productions, is set to premiere on July 25. The film will also be available in 3D and five Indian languages at launch.
For those unaware, Hombale Films and Kleem Productions have officially announced the lineup for this ambitious animated franchise, which will unfold over a decade, chronicling the ten divine avatars of Lord Vishnu. The first installment, 'Mahavatar Narsimha', will debut on July 25 this year, followed by 'Mahavatar Parshuram' in 2027, 'Mahavatar Raghunandan' in 2029, 'Mahavatar Dhawkadhesh' in 2031, 'Mahavatar Gokulananda' in 2033, 'Mahavatar Kalki Part 1' in 2035, and 'Mahavatar Kalki Part 2' in 2037.
