During his recent appearance on the music reality show Indian Idol, Avitesh became emotional while discussing Aadesh Srivastava’s remarkable strength amid his battle with illness. I struggled academically and often indulged in mischief… After school, he would always give me classes at the studio, saying, ‘Come on, you’re not going to study,’ and take me there,” he recalled.
Avitesh expressed gratitude for the invaluable lessons and experiences he gained while growing up in a creative atmosphere. “I feel extremely fortunate to have spent that time with him… I learned so much from him, and I’m still learning,” he added.
Music composer Vishal Dadlani, who serves as a judge on Indian Idol, emphasized Aadesh Srivastava’s significant contributions to the Indian music industry. He recalled how Aadesh was a leading figure in advocating for composers' rights during a pivotal time. “When composers were fighting for their rights, Aadesh ji was at the forefront… He fought a monumental battle and won,” Vishal noted.
Describing Aadesh as a “legend” and a “lion-hearted personality,” Vishal added, “We owe a debt of gratitude to Aadesh ji for all he has done for the music industry… His memory will be cherished not just for his music but for his bravery, spirit, and advocacy for all of us.”
For those unaware, Aadesh Srivastava passed away in 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.
