Mumbai, Nov 28 (NationPress) Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has warmly greeted the legendary footballer David Beckham upon his arrival in India, referring to him as a “true friend of India.”

Ayushmann, serving as the UNICEF India National Ambassador, alongside Beckham, who holds the title of Goodwill Ambassador, have harnessed their influence to spotlight pressing global issues.

During Beckham’s visit, which included a stop at a school in Visakhapatnam, Ayushmann remarked, “David Beckham is a figure who exemplifies leadership by addressing numerous societal challenges that affect individuals around the world.”

He further expressed, “Witnessing his dedication to social causes and his affection for India is remarkable. His trips to our nation motivate others to engage in altruism and draw international focus to our needs. He truly is a friend to India.”

“I am profoundly grateful for his contributions. It is genuinely fulfilling to advocate alongside fellow UNICEF ambassadors.”

On the subject of Ayushmann, he recently featured in the film “Thamma,” alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rashmika Mandanna.

This film, set in a fictional universe, intersects with Varun Dhawan’s “Bhediya” and introduces Aneet Padda as “Shakti Shalini” from the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe.

“Thamma,” which revolves around vampires, narrates the story of a journalist portrayed by Ayushmann, who becomes entangled in a power struggle among vampires played by Rashmika and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Next, Ayushmann will appear alongside Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakul Preet Singh in the upcoming film ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do,’ helmed by Mudassar Aziz. This film is slated for a Holi release on March 4, 2026.

The release date was confirmed by T-Series Films on Instagram on October 18.
