Babil Khan’s ‘Log Out’ Premieres at Film Festival in Florence, a Decade After His Father’s ‘Qissa’

Mumbai, Dec 10 (NationPress) Actor Babil Khan has fortified his father’s legacy with the screening of his film ‘Log Out’ at the 24th installment of the River to River Indian Film Festival in Florence, Italy, marking a decade since his father Irrfan Khan showcased his film ‘Qissa’ at the same event.

On December 7, 2014, Irrfan Khan attended the 14th River to River Indian Film Festival in Florence, Italy, as a distinguished guest. The festival featured his critically acclaimed film Qissa, directed by Anup Singh, solidifying his legacy within the festival’s history.

In ‘Log Out’, Babil takes on the role of a contemporary influencer who struggles with the complexities of digital fame. As his character rises to the pinnacle of virtual success, he confronts the grim repercussions of a life molded by the online realm. The film’s relevant themes and insightful narrative have resonated with both audiences and critics, establishing Babil as a burgeoning talent in Indian cinema.

During the premiere, Babil articulated the film’s core message, stating, "Today in our generation, in the age of social media, the motive of creation changes to complete validation rather than creation itself, and that's what it does to a human being. This film is about that".

He elaborated, "The film examines what transpires when our values are consumed by shallow means of validation for our disillusioned self-worth, when all of our creation is rooted in that, reflecting our generation’s current state gripped by social media, the alarming surge in our need for instant gratification, and the commodification of ideals, happiness, and positivity".

The premiere of Log Out at the Florence Indian Film Festival not only acknowledges Babil’s cinematic journey but also stands as a touching homage to his father’s lasting impact.
