Mumbai, March 3 (NationPress) Amitabh Bachchan has shared his joy and congratulated Team India after their victory against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy.
The film legend took to his blog to express how he had turned off the TV, believing that Team India would lose.
“We WON the New Zealand match... incredible... halfway through, I thought we were going to lose, so I turned off the TV... then returned after a few meetings and BOOM!! WE WIN...
Congratulations INDIA... what a match...” he wrote on his blog.
India triumphed over New Zealand by 44 runs in the final Group A contest at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. This win places India as the Group A leaders, setting them up to face Australia in the first semi-final in Dubai on Tuesday, marking a rematch of the 2023 ODI World Cup final.
The cinematic icon then discussed his encounters with fans, whom he affectionately refers to as his “Extended Family” or “EF,” at the entrance of his home.
“Another day has passed, another writing has emerged, another gathering with the EF has begun at the GOJ, and another apprehension still prevails... Will they show up or not?”
“There is a sense that the enthusiasm of the well-wishers gradually fades...
It has to... professionals fade with time... when the sport doesn’t nurture talent and performance, they depart... when the actor faces an audience that doesn’t engage, they leave... It’s true for all... regardless of what is said to the contrary... the cycle of life is relentless...”
On February 28, Big B sent a wave of speculation through his fanbase with a cryptic tweet stating, “Time to go.” The post quickly ignited curiosity, with many wondering if the actor was hinting at retirement from films and his show, “Kaun Banega Crorepati.”
The creators released a promotional video of the episode where Big B humorously reacted to a contestant’s playful request for him to dance. With his trademark humor, he quipped, “Kaun nachega? Arre bhai sahab, naachne ke liye yahan nahi rakha hai humko,” leaving everyone in laughter.
The discussion quickly shifted to Amitabh’s cryptic tweet when an audience member inquired about the meaning behind his message, “Time to go.”
Known for his quick wit, Bachchan responded with a chuckle, “There was a line that said, ‘It’s time to go...’ so what’s wrong with that?”
Another inquisitive fan asked, “Where are you going?” The 'Sholay' actor, in his characteristic manner, replied, “It means it’s time to go…” Before he could continue, the audience erupted in unison, exclaiming, “Aap yahan se kahin nahi jaa sakte!” (You can’t leave from here!)
The star then clarified, dispelling all rumors.
“Arre bhai sahab, it’s time for me to go to work… What are you all saying! And when we finish here at 2 AM, by the time I reach home, it’s already 1-2 AM. I was writing, and I got so sleepy that I dozed off right there… ‘Time to go,’ and I just fell asleep!”
