The esteemed Telugu film icon was celebrated at a prestigious ceremony held at Bharat Mandapam. This award recognizes his vast contributions to Indian cinema over a span of 50 years, serving as a tribute to his lasting impact, versatility, and unmatched dedication to the craft of acting.
Nandamuri Balakrishna attended the event in New Delhi, where he received the accolade from Delhi's Honorary Chief Minister Rekha Gupta alongside various dignitaries from the film and cultural sectors.
Notably, Balakrishna’s film 'Bhagavanth Kesari', directed by Anil Ravipudi, won the award for Best Film in Telugu at the 71st National Film Awards and was specially showcased at the festival. In attendance for this special screening were actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, director Anil Ravipudi, and producer Sahu Garapati.
After the screening, Balakrishna expressed his gratitude, stating, "First and foremost, I pay homage to my parents. Their blessings have propelled my journey in the film industry for 50 years. I take pride in saying that no other hero in any language or industry has achieved such longevity. My father was a forerunner in advocating for women and their empowerment, initiating the first law that allowed women to inherit their father's property, and establishing Padmavati University in Tirupati. He worked tirelessly for women's rights, both in cinema and politics. We will carry forward his legacy and principles. He will forever live in our hearts. I am honored to participate in the IFFD and receive this award. It is a privilege to present our film 'Bhagavanth Kesari' at this event. I appreciate everyone who made this possible.”
In 2025, the Government of India recognized Balakrishna's significant contributions to the arts and cinema by awarding him the prestigious Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian honor in the nation.
