Bharti Singh Warns Fans About AI Voice Scam Targeting Slimming Products
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 9 (NationPress) Renowned comedian Bharti Singh alerted her fans on Sunday about a disturbing scam where illicit actors are reportedly exploiting her identity and utilizing AI-generated audio to market slimming products online.
In a video posted on her social media, Bharti warned her followers that some con artists were deceptively asserting her endorsement for specific "thin foot pads."
She explained that these fraudsters manipulated AI technology to imitate her voice, making it seem as though she was promoting the product.
Expressing her concern, Bharti stated in her video, "This scam is occurring under my name. Every morning, I receive messages asking, 'Is this true, Bharti ji? Does this really help with weight loss? Have you tried this? Do you know this company?'"
She emphasized, "I want to clarify that I have no knowledge of this company whatsoever. For me, this constitutes fraud. They are using my name and even altering my voice through AI without my consent to sell these foot pads."
Bharti further noted, "I was unaware of this situation until people began sending me the videos. They trust me so deeply that they inquire whether it’s genuine and if they should make a purchase. However, this is a scam. I have no idea who these people are."
She reiterated that the voice featured in these advertisements is not hers and urged her fans not to fall victim to these deceitful promotions and scams.
"This is a scam, everyone, so please refrain from buying it. That voice isn't even mine. My face might be present, but the voice is not authentic. Even my mother sent me the video asking if it was true. It's a lie. I do not know who these individuals are," she added.
Through her social media video, Bharti has encouraged her followers to remain vigilant and avoid purchasing products that are promoted through such misleading advertisements.
She also stressed that she has no affiliation with the company or the product being circulated online.
