Mumbai, Dec 22 (NationPress) The esteemed Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan recently shared the story of his first encounter with legendary Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan.
An old clip from a quiz-based reality show has emerged online, showcasing the iconic actor reminiscing about their initial meeting.
He remarked, “I must confess, I am a huge admirer of Gurdas Maan. I've enjoyed his music for many years. Whether he recalls our meeting, I'm here to jog his memory.”
“Our first encounter took place at an airport. Upon his arrival, he paid his respects by bowing to me. I felt so overwhelmed that I exclaimed, ‘You are a remarkable person. Please don’t do this; I am unworthy of such respect. I bow to you instead,’” he continued.
In response, Gurdas Maan expressed, “Your kindness towards the elderly, children, and those who face mobility challenges is commendable. Even in their moments of sadness, you treat them with dignity, for the knowledge and talent you possess is rare and exceptional. It serves as a beacon of excellence. Thank you for that.”
Recently, Big B also commemorated his late mother, Teji Bachchan, on the 18th anniversary of her passing. He took to his blog to share a heartfelt image of her, along with a moving tribute, dedicating the day to her memory.
He wrote, “This day is dedicated to the memory of my mother. December 21. Words fail to express, only prayers remain.”
Teji Bachchan was wed to Harivansh Rai Bachchan in Allahabad in 1941. Following her marriage, she embraced the role of a homemaker while maintaining her passion for the stage, often singing at social events when encouraged.
She was the mother of two sons, Amitabh and Ajitabh Bachchan. In 2007, her health deteriorated, leading to her extended hospitalization, and she ultimately passed away at the age of 93 on December 21, 2007.
In other news, Amitabh recently made a note regarding the postponed release of his grandson Agastya Nanda’s film, ‘Ikkis’. Initially set for an October 2 release, it was later rescheduled for December 25, alongside Kartik Aaryan’s romantic comedy ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’. However, it will now debut solo on January 1. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, this war drama recounts the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal and focuses on the Battle of Basantar during the 1971 India-Pakistan War.
