Mumbai, Dec 30 (NationPress) In the most recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, iconic singers Gurdas Maan and Shankar Mahadevan will share heartfelt anecdotes about their profound relationship with the Bachchan family.
This Tuesday, the renowned singers will be featured alongside Amitabh Bachchan on the hotseat. The legendary actor reminisces about cherished moments, including Maan’s emotional performance at his daughter Shweta’s wedding, along with a heartfelt message from the esteemed singer that he continues to hold dear. Shankar also discussed his ties with the Bachchan family, expressing the honor he felt when performing at Abhishek Bachchan’s wedding.
Amitabh expressed his admiration for Punjabi music, stating, “I was speaking with my daughter Shweta because all the youngsters in our family enjoy Punjabi folk songs; they are immensely loved in our home. I inquired how these songs gain such popularity and the background of the singers. There are numerous new artists emerging who sing beautifully. She mentioned something I’d like you to confirm—whether it’s true or not. She said that from a young age, children visit the Gurudwara, listen to the Bani, and learn from it. It is from there that they receive their musical education. Is this accurate?”
Gurdas Maan responds, “Yes, absolutely, Sir, that is correct.” He continues, “I’m overwhelmed with love and respect today. I remember being in Delhi for Shweta’s wedding, and our group performed there. Shenshah (referring to Mr. Bachchan) stood in front of us. After my performance, he blessed me with a 500-rupee note. I still keep that note as a treasure.”
Shankar adds, “You performed at Shweta ji’s wedding, and I had the honor of singing at Abhishek ji’s wedding.”
Big B also recalled an unforgettable New Year’s house party, where legends like Pandit Birju Maharaj and Zakir Hussain captivated everyone with their exceptional skills.
