Recalling his early struggles, Lehri shared, “I grew up fascinated by films. The first time I visited a cinema was a special occasion, as I didn’t have the money to go myself; someone took me to watch ‘Shankar Shambhu’. Later, I saw ‘Ganga Ki Saugand’, your film, which had that iconic small hand scene. Then came ‘Namak Halaal’, and my love for comedy made me watch you repeatedly.” He added, “We even got a video cassette of it.”

He continued, “The song ‘Ke Pag Ghunghroo Bandh Meera’… the scene where you dance with slippers… and of course ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, particularly the mirror scene. Sir, while many recognize you as the angry young man, I have learned comedy from you. All my writing and performances stem from watching you. I’ve seen every one of your films and can recite dialogues from them all.”

In response, Amitabh Bachchan warmly acknowledged Sudesh’s journey and shared a nostalgic tale from his early days filming in Rishikesh, adding, “Since you mentioned ‘Ganga Ki Saugand’, it was filmed in the 60s and 70s in Rishikesh.”
