Amitabh Bachchan Commemorates His Mother Teji Bachchan on Her 17th Death Anniversary

Mumbai, Dec 21 (NationPress) Renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan has paid tribute to his mother Teji Bachchan on her 17th death anniversary.
Amitabh took to his blog to share a previously unseen photograph of his mother, who left this world in 2007.
In his heartfelt caption, he expressed: “Today, the 21st of December: In remembrance… right before my eyes, each moment of each day.”
Teji Bachchan, the wife of the late poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, passed away on December 21, 2007, at the age of 93 after battling a prolonged illness.
Teji and Harivansh Rai tied the knot in Allahabad in 1941, and after their marriage, she dedicated herself to being a homemaker. The couple had two sons: Amitabh and Ajitabh Bachchan.
In a 2017 reflection, Big B recounted the family's challenging moments during their mother’s final days, describing them as “difficult.”
“As she struggled against the heart rate monitor, the doctors made valiant attempts to revive her, with the heart responding only intermittently in her frail body,” Amitabh wrote on his blog.
He continued, “The powerful hands pumping on her chest were agonizing for me to witness. The equipment had failed, and the revivers were changing hands. My mother’s life would pause and then revive again.”
He noted that the manual pumping intensified, making it increasingly unbearable for him.
“We stood holding hands and watched her depart,” he shared.
Recently, the cinematic legend remarked on his granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan’s performance at school.
In a blog post, Big B noted: “Children... their innocence and eagerness to excel in front of their parents... such a joy... and when they perform for thousands, it is the most exhilarating experience... Today was one such day...”
On December 19, the legendary Amitabh Bachchan and fellow Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan attended a school annual day event with their families.
