Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, April 18 (NationPress) The legendary figure of Hindi cinema, Amitabh Bachchan, nostalgically reflected on his mother, Teji Bachchan, as he revisited a heartwarming childhood tradition that provided him with immediate comfort.
The film icon took to his blog to express how often individuals invest unnecessary time and energy worrying about problems that might have straightforward solutions.
“... sometimes, a slight adjustment to what troubles you can simplify life tremendously... the shift must be made and, of course, practiced consistently... but afterward, what a relief... and you ponder whether it was truly worth expending so much time, energy, and stress on an issue that had a simple fix... homemade creativity has always been most effective. While reminiscing about his youth, the acclaimed actor articulated the nurturing affection of his late mother, Teji Bachchan, and the unique solace she offered during challenging times.
He recounted a simple home remedy involving a ball made from her dupatta, stating: “that gentle touch from Ma... a reassurance in her voice... that round ball from her dupatta, warmed by her breath, placed on your eyes... and the instant relief... accompanied by her words.”
Beyond the physical relief, it was her comforting words that left a profound impact on him.
He added: “all shall be well, Beta”... and the comfort it always provided.”
Although his mother is no longer present, Big B conveyed that the mere thought of those cherished moments continually brings him solace and assurance even today.
“She is not here anymore, but just recalling those times revives that nurturing care, confidence, and assurance... blessed be the Mother who brought us into this world... be well, Ef, and remain connected forever (sic).”
Teji Bachchan married Harivansh Rai Bachchan in 1941 in Allahabad and became a devoted homemaker. A lover of the stage, she would also perform at social gatherings when encouraged. The couple had two sons, Amitabh and Ajitabh Bachchan.
She spent much of 2007 in the hospital and was moved to the ICU in November of that year when her condition declined. She passed away at the age of 93 on December 21, 2007, after a prolonged illness.
The film icon is currently filming for Nag Ashwin’s “Kalki 2898 AD” sequel, which features Kamal Haasan and Prabhas. Big B was last seen in the action thriller directed by T. J. Gnanavel titled “Vettaiyan.”
