Mumbai, Nov 25 (NationPress) Actress and producer Neetu Chandra has revealed how Bihar is increasingly becoming a vibrant center for filmmakers and emerging talent.
Reflecting on her 15-year journey in producing regional narratives and fostering talent from the state, she emphasized that the transforming film landscape, paired with supportive policies, is paving the way for local creatives to thrive, develop, and shine in their own region.
In an interview with IANS, Neetu shared, “I have dedicated fifteen years to building my identity as a producer. I have nurtured talents from Bihar and produced the majority of films from this area. My affection and commitment to Bihar are profound. You cannot take Bihar out of your heart. We prioritize credentials over connections. Thus, I can confidently declare — Jai Bihar, Jai Hind.”
Discussing the expanding opportunities in the state, Neetu Chandra pointed out that while many once hesitated to leave their hometowns for work, Bihar is now generating pathways for them to cultivate their careers locally.
“Previously, individuals would express a desire to stay in their hometowns — which is admirable. However, we have now created opportunities within Bihar. We have facilitated hundreds of production houses and producers to shoot in the state. Local artists will secure jobs, gain exposure, and have the chance to display their skills. Witnessing the people of Bihar smiling because they find work in their homeland is truly beautiful. All this is achievable due to the Bihar Film Policy.”
When discussing Bihar’s increasing appeal as a filming location, Neetu noted that the cinematic landscape is gradually shifting towards Bihar. She highlighted that regardless of a film’s narrative or setting, creators can now opt to film in the state and benefit from its ever-growing supportive film policy.
“The cinematic landscape is moving towards Bihar. Regardless of the story being told, even if it’s not set in Bihar, you can still film in the state and enjoy the advantages of the policy. Shooting in Bihar is straightforward, comfortable, and efficient. We will provide every possible facility,” she stated.
Neetu Chandra’s film “Chhath” has been selected for the Indian Panorama section at the International Film Festival of India 2025 (IFFI).
