Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 17 (NationPress) The A-Ward office of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is considering blacklisting Aditya Dhar’s production entity, B62 Studios, due to numerous infractions of safety regulations and civic guidelines during the filming of ‘Dhurandhar 2’, featuring Ranveer Singh.
A BMC insider revealed that there were several rule breaches throughout the production of the film Dhurandhar 2.
Reportedly, gas cylinders were utilized on set for cooking, which contravenes established regulations. Moreover, the location for shooting was altered without securing the required permissions, the source noted.
In light of these transgressions, the A-Ward office has dispatched a letter to the Deputy Municipal Commissioner proposing that the studio face blacklisting. However, as of now, the studio remains officially unblacklisted.
The A-Ward office has put forth a recommendation to blacklist B62 Studios over allegations of repeated violations of safety and civic codes during the filming of Dhurandhar 2.
Information suggests that burning torches were employed in a high-security area during the shoot, prompting intervention from the Mumbai Police, which resulted in the confiscation of equipment.
According to the source, crew members reportedly shifted the shooting venue without proper authorization and utilized a building's terrace without getting the necessary approvals from local officials.
Additionally, two generator vans were allegedly operating on site without the local administration's consent.
The BMC has formally communicated with the Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC), advocating for a permanent ban on the studio's filming activities through the state's single-window filming portal.
In response to the infractions, the civic body has already forfeited the production's security deposit of Rs 25,000 and proposed an extra penalty of Rs 1 lakh. Even though the studio has yet to be officially blacklisted, the proposal is being processed for further action.
Entitled ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, the film is set for release on March 19. It features Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal. This movie marks the first part of a two-part series centered around a high-stakes covert counter-terrorism mission.
The plot follows an undercover Indian intelligence officer as he infiltrates Karachi's criminal networks and political structures in Pakistan to dismantle a terror organization targeting India.
Drawing inspiration from various real-life geopolitical events and conflicts in South Asia, the film references incidents such as the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and aspects related to Pakistan's Operation Lyari.
“Dhurandhar 2” continues with Hamza Ali Mazhari, an Indian undercover agent who has successfully penetrated Pakistan’s underworld. After eliminating Rehman Dakait, Hamza rises in power, only to confront his toughest opponent yet, Major Iqbal, the ISI mastermind known as Bade Sahab.
