Mumbai, Jan 23 (NationPress) Border 2, which premiered today on January 23, has elicited varied responses from its audience. Led by Sunny Deol, the film, despite extensive promotional efforts, experienced only a moderate turnout at the box office on its opening day, with viewers expressing mixed feelings.

While some fans have lauded the film's plot and the cast's performances, describing it as emotionally impactful, others have expressed that the storyline becomes tedious over time and occasionally loses its momentum.

In conversations with IANS, several audience members shared their thoughts on Border 2.

Commenting on the dialogues and performances, some moviegoers applauded the film, deeming it profoundly emotional. One fan remarked, “This movie is incredibly emotional. Many people were both clapping and crying during the intense scenes. It will certainly resonate with your heart.”

While the film received praise, viewers also highlighted that its length could be a significant drawback. Many expressed disappointment regarding the film's duration.

One viewer noted that certain elements, such as the romantic subplots of nearly every soldier and wedding scenes, were unnecessary for the storyline. “It’s a war film and should maintain that focus. Superfluous additions have been made, and the editing isn’t quite up to par. I believe the film could have been shorter,” a fan mentioned.

Another audience member expressed nostalgia for Akshaye Khanna, who starred in the original Border from 1999, adding, “I missed seeing Akshaye Khanna in this film. It’s undeniably the Dhurandhar effect.”

Another viewer emphasized the powerful performance of Diljit Dosanjh, noting that his acting profoundly affects the audience. This fan also commended Varun Dhawan for his exceptional performance, urging those who criticized him to witness his remarkable acting skills. Additionally, a fan praised Ahan Shetty's performance, stating he perfectly fits his role and delivers his lines flawlessly.

For those unfamiliar, Border 2 is inspired by the 1971 war and certain real events. The film is produced by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series, in collaboration with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films. With a strong production team comprising Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, it was directed by Anurag Singh. The film was released on January 23.

In contrast, J.P. Dutta’s iconic Border debuted in 1997, featuring a star-studded cast that included Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in critical roles, alongside Tabu, Pooja Bhatt, Rakhee Gulzar, Sharbani Mukherjee, Sapna Bedi, and Rajiv Goswami.
