Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Finalize Divorce Settlement Following Eight-Year Legal Struggle

Los Angeles, Dec 31 (NationPress) Hollywood icons Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have successfully reached a settlement regarding their divorce after an extensive eight-year legal struggle.
The couple finalized their agreement and signed off on the divorce on December 30, as reported by Variety.
Angelina's attorney, James Simon, stated, "More than eight years ago, Angelina initiated divorce proceedings against Mr. Pitt. She and the children vacated all of the properties they shared with Mr. Pitt, and since then, her focus has been on seeking peace and healing for their family."
He added, "This is merely one phase of a lengthy ongoing process that began eight years ago. Honestly, Angelina is fatigued, but she feels relieved that this aspect is now concluded."
Moreover, according to the statement, the Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-stars have requested a jury trial lasting 10 to 15 days and will engage in a settlement conference or mediation session as an alternative to resolve any lingering disputes.
According to Variety, the couple captured headlines in 2016 when an alleged physical altercation transpired on a private flight, during which Pitt reportedly “choked” one of his children and “struck another in the face.”
This news was initially reported by People magazine.
It was also alleged that he “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her.” An anonymous filing was submitted against Pitt following the incident, but the identities of the parties involved were disclosed to be Pitt and Jolie in 2022.
In April, Angelina's attorney submitted a claim alleging that Pitt's physical abuse “began well before” the 2016 incident. It also accused Pitt of preventing Jolie from selling her share of their Chateau Miraval winery unless she agreed to a nondisclosure agreement that would have legally bound her from discussing Pitt’s physical and emotional abuse of her and their children outside of court.
